Latest Book - Hey it's not Twilight!

So I just finished a great book "To Kill a Mockingbird"
It is a very good book, and it has a great message. Even though some of the events that take place are kind of....... different. I also got to watch the movie on my phone on the way here to Utah. It is quite accurate! Of course the movie had to cut some parts out, but it was a very good movie. I give it a thumbs up! See, look at me, while all females in North America go nuts about twilight, I am reading a NOVEL with a MORAL.. and IMPORTANCE! lol

More Antler Projects

Here are some of my latest creations inspired by Mountain Man Rendezvous: You probably remember the one from last year's post.

For the smaller knife I made the blade myself out of a big file, and I bought the machete blade, and stuck em into elk antler myself. I was actually taught how to do big knives right by "trader lee" so it is all perfectly safe. The knife blade is somewhere around 8 1/2 inches and the machete is around 20-21 inches. both of them took around two hours to make. I really should have gotten before and after pictures.. oh well.

New Side of the Desert

Yesterday Christian and I went to the further, untouched side of the desert. Most the time when we go to that area we usually find something new and exciting; And yesterday we found the only Saguaro cactus in the whole State Trust Desert! (sorry for the low quality cell phone pictures) And a HUGE Bull Snake. 5 1/2 feet and fat as mud!
And when we got back -

Alexa held it!

Survivorman Season 3 - Nov 7th!!!!

As a lot of you may know, I am a total nerd for this show. I love learning how to use ingenuity to help you survive and live in harsh situations. For those who don't know much about the show, A man is dropped off all alone with camera gear and a few basic survival tools out in the wilderness, to show some survival techniques as he survives himself for 6-7 days.

After a LOOONG time (at least for me anyways) season 3 is finally coming out on November 7th!

Hunting Season Came Around Again!

Mark just sent us some great pictures of his latest buck. No fooling around here, he has been stalking this buck for quite some time now and he just recently got to harvest it. It's a beauty! Although we have had just as many good comments abaout his huge biceps & forearms than the buck itself!

Night of Recklessness

This is Christian attempting frontflip off the park bench, you have to listen closely or else it isnt funny(THIS IS NOT A PRANK I SWEAR!) you have to look closely too.. Sorry for the lighting.

He landed smack on his butt.. (I have permissoin to blog this!)

I was the Crocodile Huntaaa!

Last night for mutual we all had skits do to for a certain given theme, our group's theme was "Entertainment and Media"

As Tanner and Lexi flipped through channels they saw Alexa and Mkenzie MTV spring break! Tanner- yeah spring break! Lexi- This is innapropriate! switch!

Then me, as crocodile hunter came up with a bug rubber rat "This is the mesopotamian devil rat! one bite from this little beauty and you die in 30 seconds! but I am gonna git em anyway!"
then gets bit, and I got mad and slammed him against the ground and stomped on him Lexi - Poor animal! Tanner - yeah this is innapropriate, lets switch it.

Brandon and Davis came on playing batminton, then get mad and start pounding on each other Tanner - Whoah! look at that! Lexi - This is way too violent!

Then it was Carly, with a simbraro, "whoooh! tacos! burritos! simbraro! ahahaha!"
Tanner - No Bueno...

The book channel! where you watch Kevin read! ....................................................................
Tanner and Lexi - Ahh no way! This is Boring!

Tanner - Ohh BYU channel! Lexi - I like this one Tanner - I guess there is some good things to watch these days..

Campout Day #2 - Tonto Natural Bridge

The Tonto Natural bridge was AMAZING! It ranks as one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!
Breathtaking
This is us adventurous guys taking the hardest possible way through the cave.

And pretending to be Bear Grylles -

"Now, this cliff is 140 foot to the bottom, and the rocks are real slippy! If you fall it is sure death! Which makes it one of the most dangerous places on earth! Now the only way across this, is to jump across the gap and grab the little ledge! If I miss, it is my death! In a REAL survival situation, you should never attempt this, but I am gonna do it anyway!!!!"

Lil' Meany

Walking Alexa home from a babysitting job, we found this little guy on the road.

He is just a little bull snake, but he is a mean one! And tricky too! Right when we thought he was nice and calm.. He strikes and gets Alexa right on the wrist! (NON-VENOMOUS!)

It didn't even phase her though! Ok, ok, the snake isn't as big as he looks in the picture, but he has teeth. And he doesn't hesitate to sink 'em into yer skin!

But Hey! Her experience only made her even more brave!! The very next day she had the meanie the bull snake, plus Ricky the Python and Josh the Long-Nosed snake! And she was HAPPY!

Ward Campout Day 1 - Night time business

The Youth (And Bro. Stevens) Kinda segregated from the pack and had some fun.
What you see here is me and Dustin arguing about something stupid supposedly.. It kinda got out of hand when I climbed the 20ft tree and pounced on him ninja-style.
you can tell by the look on his face he did not suspect anything... I would like to acknowledge good ol' Brandonian in the background making sure I didn't get hurt, he's got my back....
For more on that night, go to www.mractive.blogspot.com

It was Fun Times!

This is the first real nasty injury I have received from bike-related causes. (surprisingly) I made the mistake of wearing slippy skate shoes on my mountain bike, they slipped on a jump and I got a bad gash in my shin from my nasty monster pedals.
Thank you Brandon for offering his tube sock as a makeshift bandage and blood-stopper! The main cut is not visible in any picture we have. But It is about 2 1/2 inches long, and deep enough to see the bone. There was a long debate about stitches, but we ended up using Bruce's nifty "surgical glue"
Hey! I just realized, mine and my dad's injuries both concern what shoes we wear! LOL

We wear our sunglasses at night

Spida-man!

At our varsity camp out we discovered that "Spida-Man" truly
has some talent, on out drive up here, Tayler got himself a little figurine of Spida-Man in a vending machine. He experimented his awesome powers and amongst the force of Bruce's car he stayed the whole half-hour trip on top of his car! His perch, and his other plastic counterparts blew away, but he prevailed! He is now our mascot. To remind us...... that.... well..... it was just hilarious.

He's got da Moves

We have all found that sam really likes to dance. I don't usually put sam on my blog, because you all know my mom does that quite enough on the family blog.. But this is very funny.

Stevens vs. Martineau

As some of you may have noticed, me and the Stevens bros. are quite competitive when it comes to wheels. This is an awesome picture of the three of us.. May I point out that I am in the front :P This was about a year ago at the F1 race factory.
Brandon - He has some pretty mad skills, I refer to him as my athletic mentor..
Davis - He surprises you when you see his crazy talent, in a race, he sure can pack a punch.
Jeff - Well, what can I say, I have been taught in the way of racing from these marvelous racers. But I have the good looks, charm, and the sweet hook ups (like Pedro's cousins) JK.
The Stevens bros. are awesome, I am glad to be their partner-in-crime.
A wise, older friend of mine said "There is a word for people like you boys, SHOWOFF!"

Catch of the Day

My amazing dad was kind enough to take us fishing today, the fish were marginal, but the tarantulas were nice and scary.
